AN INDEPENDENT STRATEGIC FORESIGHT INITIATIVE
Twelve forces.
One changing world.
12 Swans Project examines the high-impact forces, transitions and emerging signals that may reshape the global economy, technology, institutions and society.
About the Project
12 Swans Project is an independent strategic foresight and decision-intelligence initiative created to explore the forces shaping the next economic, technological and institutional era.
The project does not attempt to predict the future with certainty. It creates a disciplined framework for observing change, connecting weak signals, exploring plausible scenarios and asking better strategic questions.
Its purpose is to help researchers, leaders, institutions and future generations understand not only what is changing, but how different transformations may interact with one another.
Why Twelve Swans?
The project organises a complex and interconnected world through twelve strategic domains. Each "Swan" represents a force, transition, uncertainty or emerging possibility that deserves deeper observation.
The twelve-part structure is not intended to reduce the future to a simple list. It provides a living map through which technological, economic, environmental, institutional and social transformations can be examined together.
From Signals to Strategic Understanding
Observe
Identify structural shifts, weak signals, emerging technologies and changing behaviours.
Connect
Examine relationships between economic, technological, institutional, environmental and social systems.
Anticipate
Develop multiple plausible scenarios rather than relying on a single linear forecast.
Prepare
Translate uncertainty into strategic questions, early indicators and areas requiring deeper research.
The Twelve-Swan Framework
The framework consists of twelve interconnected research domains. Each Swan will be introduced progressively as its research scope and methodology are completed.
Research domains will be announced following editorial and methodological review.
What the Project Seeks to Produce
Independent Research
Multidisciplinary analysis of major structural transformations.
Scenario Frameworks
Alternative pathways for understanding possible futures.
Early Signals
Indicators that may reveal emerging changes before they become widely visible.
Strategic Dialogue
A shared language for discussing uncertainty, resilience and long-term transformation.
A Living Research Initiative
12 Swans Project is currently in its project-introduction and research-framework development phase.
The project website will evolve as the twelve research domains, methodologies and publications are completed.
